What We Ride • Jeff Lenosky's STEEZL

The Team at REEB loves riding bikes as much as we love building them for you.  We spend countless hours crafting our rides to suit our individual personalities and  styles.  Take a closer look at the bikes we ride and some of the reasons we choose the components we do!

YOUR BIKE
Frame:  STEEZL , X-Large I ride most of the time on the East Coast where the trails are pretty tight and twisty.  I can fit an XXL as well, and it's definitely faster on the downhills but I prefer to have a slightly smaller more nimble bike for the trails I ride.
Fork: Cane Creek Helm 160.  I set the volume adjuster 1 setting from the max in order to make the fork supple off the top and progressive.
Shock: Air Kitsuma I change shocks a lot, I love the Tigon as well and that's my go-to for bike parks or when I know things are gonna get rowdy!
Tires: Vittoria Mazza 2.6 front and 2.4 rear
Tire sealant:  Orange Seal
Rims: Industry Nine Hydra 2 Enduro 29" front and rear.
Hubs: I9 Hydra 2.  They have super quick engagement and are super dependable.
Stem: Industry Nine 50mm.  Slightly long on for an enduro bike but it helps me weight the front wheel for tech moves and keeps my wheelbase a little shorter.
Brakes: Shimano Deore XT 8200 4 Piston
Handlebar: Pro Tharsis 35mm rise
Bottom bracket:  Cane Creek Hellbender
Grips: ODI
Cranks:  Shimano XT 165mm
Chainring: Shimano XT 28 tooth
Pedals:  Shimano XTR Hands down the best pedals I've used.
Chain: Shimano XT
Rear derailleur:  Shimano Deore XT 8200 Di2 Wireless
Shifter: Shimano Deore XT 8200 Di2 Wireless
Rear cassette: Shimano Deore XT 8200 9-45 It has the same range as 10-51 in a more compact package.
Saddle: PRO
Seatpost:  OneUp 240mm
Headset:  Cane Creek Hellbender 70

Special touches:  I love working with partners like Cane Creek and Industry Nine who offer lots of custom options.  I chose lots of Silver hits along with some blue ones to round out this build.

Bonus Set Up:  Mixed Wheels. One of my favorite things about the STEEZL is how versatile it is. I can switch between a coil and an air rear shock and even adjust rear travel in less than five minutes. That flexibility lets me fine-tune the bike depending on the terrain or the ride vibe.

Lately, I’ve been experimenting with mixed wheels, and the setup has some really interesting attributes. A lot of people talk about the added clearance on steep roll-ins or the improved maneuverability from the smaller rear wheel. I'm 6'4" so relatively speaking I have plenty of room on the bike so that doesn't effect me quite as much.  What I have noticed most is how quickly the smaller wheel accelerates on technical climbs when I need to get the wheels moving again.

Another thing I’ve felt is how the smaller rear wheel grabs the ground under hard braking. It seems to bite into the nooks and crannies a little better, giving the bike a more planted, controlled feel.

The STEEZL is the most versatile REEB in my fleet, it's not just one bike, it's a platform that can be configured into countless set ups with very little time or effort.
