Coil-Sprung but not climb-adverse

Visions of cluttered cockpits and unfocused performance come to mind when I think of bikes that try to solve the two-in-one conundrum. This SQWEEB, however, isn’t making any compromises with its offering of two travel settings on one chassis. In fact, at first glance, you’d be hard-pressed to realize what a broad range of customization this bike can deliver. It’s a tidy-looking bike with a custom-fabricated style.”

” I can’t help but think that I got the assignment to test REEB’s latest iteration of the SQWEEB based on my long-standing aversion to travel-adjust bikes.

“This brings me back to the inherent bias I’ve traditionally had against travel-adjust bikes. I always find some compromise, but that’s just not present on the SQWEEB. Both travel modes retain the qualities I like about the SQWEEB platform—short rear-end, roomy reach, comfortable climbing stance, confident handling—but the way the rear suspension performs is very different and can satisfy a wide range of different riding preferences or terrain.”

“It’s refreshing to look at a bike and have a ton of control over how the final build will look and ride. For me, the secret sauce was in a coil-sprung bike with a penchant for big days. For another rider, a SQWEEB could offer a totally different kind of experience. Ultimately, the REEB made me eat my words when it comes to my stance on travel-adjust bikes.”
